Police probe on abduction ends

21/05/2008 8:35:00 AM
BENDIGO police have ended investigations into the reported attempted abduction of a schoolgirl in Flora Hill two weeks ago.

Senior Detective Craig Miller said a 15-year-old girl had told police a man confronted her in Heartbreak Lane at 8.15am on May 6.

Since the report, police had conducted extensive inquiries and spoken to various people in the area, Sen-Det Miller said.

"We have experienced a constant flow of information from the community, generated by the assistance of local media," he said.

"We would like to thank the public for its concern regarding this incident."

Sen-Det Miller said a person had been spoken to in relation to the reported incident.

"Investigating members would like to reassure the Flora Hill and wider Bendigo community that there is no remaining threat to the public regarding this incident," he said.
