GOLDEN Square has regained star on-baller Jason Griffin for its Bendigo Bank Bendigo Football League clash with arch-rival Sandhurst at Country Vet Oval tomorrow.
Griffin has not played for the Bulldogs since he broke a finger against Maryborough on May 24.
As well as Griffin returning to the side, the Bulldogs also welcome back inter-league centre half-forward Leigh Davies, who was sidelined for last week’s 40-point victory against Kangaroo Flat at Dower Park.
In other selection news ahead of round 11, Eaglehawk will be missing star forward Matt Gretgrix for its game against Maryborough at Canterbury Park.
Gretgrix, who sits third on the BFL goalkicking table with 37, has a strained ligament in his knee, but is expected to be fit to play against Gisborne in next week’s blockbuster at Gardiner Reserve.
Lively goalsneak Corey Gregg is unavailable for the Hawks, with Ryan Pedrotti and Travis St Clair earning call-ups.
Kangaroo Flat welcomes back experienced duo Rowan Warfe and Brendan Hehir for its crucial match with fellow fifth-spot contender Castlemaine at Camp Reserve.
The Roos also selected defender Andrew Gladman.
Last week’s game between the Roos and Golden Square was held up for six minutes in the first quarter as Gladman was attended to by medical staff and then stretchered off with concussion.
However, the Roos’ new recruit - 2005 Sydney Swans premiership player Paul Williams - won’t make his debut against the Magpies.
Castlemaine named brothers Jack and Bill Rolfe, who joined the Magpies this week from Eastern Football League club Donvale.
Gisborne has selected two first-gamers for its encounter with fierce rival Kyneton.
Josh Bain and Michael Thornton will both make their debuts for the Bulldogs, while another youngster in under-18 player Tim O’Hare has earned a call-up for the match at the Kyneton Showgrounds.
Meanwhile, in the Loddon Valley Football League, Gilbert McAdam was not selected for Pyramid Hill last night.
McAdam, who played 111 AFL games with the Brisbane Bears and St Kilda between 1991 and 1996, lodged a last-minute clearance with the top-of-the-ladder Bulldogs on Tuesday.
The 41-year-old played in the E.J. Whitten Legends Game on Tuesday night, but he won’t be making his debut for the Bulldogs against Inglewood tomorrow.
