THE Bendigo Baseball Association’s under-18 representative team will pit its skill against strong line-ups at this weekend’s Victorian Provincial country championships.

The young guns from Bendigo will be aiming for plenty of runs, catches and strikes as they take on Latobe Valley, North East and Sunraysia in Geelong.

After many weeks of training the squad in the blue and gold will vie for overall honours in division two.

Coach of Bendigo’s line-up, Pam Dawkins said a strong team of 14 would compete.

A key to Bendigo’s play will be its batting strength.

The line-up includes Brayden Cecchin, Stewart Marshall, Josh Cadmore and Caleb Fox.

The team’s assistant coach is Andrew Fox, with Andrew Foura the manager.

Viv Cox will take on the scoring duties.

Many past representatives at the VPBL under-18 country titles have gone on to excel in the Bendigo Baseball Association’s senior competitions, in Melbourne’s league.

Now starring in college baseball in the USA, Nolan Maher and Tim Dellwo are two of many of young stars to have played at the country titles.
