7/10/2008 | WE understand that Fresh FM’s radio licence renewal is again under consideration.
7/10/2008 | AS a pensioner in these “topsy, turvy’’ days of the big boys doing their dough, and having been brought up as an 11-year-old during the Great Depression, I sleep well at night.
7/10/2008 | BEFORE we went on a six-week family visit trip to Holland, we took it on ourselves to check the credibility of the claim that due to the Coles/Woolworth 80 per cent monopoly, we pay 20-30 per cent more in our supermarkets than Western Europeans.
7/10/2008 | THE Victorian National Parks Association is gleefully attempting to make capital out of a report by Price Waterhouse Coopers by claiming huge benefits from locking up the mid-Murray river red gum forests.
6/10/2008 | ONCE again, I'm amused some people in Bendigo are upset the council is wasting $60,000 on a Christmas tree. Are these the same people who were upset the council wasted $5,000,000 on Hargreaves Mall? Are these the same people who are upset every time the council announces a yearly rate rise?
6/10/2008 | THE Rotary District 9800 is celebrating 50 years of Rotary Youth Exchange in Australia on Sunday, November 2. All past students, as well as this year's Inbound and Outbound students, are invited to celebrate the program at Rotary Camp Getaway, Axedale, from 10am until 4.30pm, with lots of activities, a guest speaker and, of course, lunch.
6/10/2008 | I WAS always surprised the Howard coalition government did not introduce a maternity leave scheme, given it had a family friendly disposition through its tax and social security changes. The Labor government is heading slowly towards a scheme (probably just before an election, like a pension increase too!).
6/10/2008 | THE State Government of Victoria introduced an amendment to the Local Government Act to the Parliament on September 11, 2008, for a new code of conduct for councillors. Why do the people of Victoria have to have another in-house panel, like a two-person Council Conduct Panel?
4/10/2008 | I opened the Addy and there I was gazing out at myself from the back row of the 1951 Bendigo Teachers College students (The Way We Were, Wednesday October 1).
4/10/2008 | QUITE a while ago, I wrote a letter about pipelines and mentioned the folly of connecting puddles to puddles.
4/10/2008 | I WOULD like to respond to letters about the new Christmas tree to be installed at the corner of Pall Mall and View Street.
4/10/2008 | I DON’T know how many of your readers are aware that Bendigo is twinned with Penzance and St Just.
3/10/2008 | IS it not typical of Bendigo council, that they have decided to “light up the city’’ by spending more than $60,000 on an artificial Christmas tree?
3/10/2008 | BEYONDBLUE has designated October as Anxiety and Depression Awareness (ADA) Month, which includes Mental Health Week (October 7-13) and World Mental Health Day (October 10).
3/10/2008 | IN reference to the money to be spent on a Christmas tree for our city, a cost of $60,000.
3/10/2008 | I WOULD like to commend and thank the Department of Sustainability and Environment, La Trobe University and the City of Greater Bendigo on the free Bush Walkabout at Dead Dog Gully held on Sunday.
2/10/2008 | THE presentation of the winning team and acknowledgment of the skill and fitness of Hawthorn in winning the grand final last Saturday was well done.
2/10/2008 | DAMIAN Drum MLC and the Coalition have left their Plug the Pipe allies high and dry.  | CommentsComments (1)
2/10/2008 | ANNETTE Hollingworth calls for common sense to prevail in the debate about our red gum forests (“Forest modelling figures are a fantasy’’, Letters, September 25).  | CommentsComments (1)
2/10/2008 | HAVING recently spent a little time in Bendigo Hospital, I would like to thank the staff.

4/10/2008 | I’VE been told, on more than one occasion, that I’m high maintenance.
