Community needs to support our ambos

4/07/2008 8:16:00 AM
I ADDRESS this letter to everybody in our community.

At one stage or another we have required the services of an ambulance and paramedics, whether it be for family, friends or yourselves.

They are now in need of our support.

If you read the facts on the website they have provided, you will see they are in desperate need of help and it’s now our time to come to their assistance.

Go to www.responsejltime.org.au and follow the links that lead you to the appropriate action.

Let us all as a community take a stand and fight for the needs of not only our paramedics but ourselves.

All it takes is a little bit of time, which at the moment the paramedics don’t have.

This is a fight they are unable to fight on their own.

There may come a time when you are in desperate need of their services and they will be unavailable unless you respond now.

I urge you to go to the above address and show your support.

I personally know that without them I wouldn’t have my daughter with me now.

I have sent this message to everybody in my address book and it took me no more than five minutes.

When I needed the ambulance officers it took them just over an hour to stabilise my child for transport via air ambulance.

So, how can my family and everybody else out there begrudge them five minutes of our time to show them our support? There is no comparison. Get in there and help our ambos.

MICHELLE TAYLOR,

Huntly

8/09/2008 | When I heard that some obscure woman from Alaska had been selected as the Republican Party's vice-presidential nominee, my first reaction was not to check the cable news channels, or even the internet news sites. No, my first reaction was to go to YouTube.
